Scout to First Class
In your path from Scout to First Class, Scouts will learn essential skills that are part of scouting. Scouts begin to learn about a lot about camping, first aid, other scouting essentials and most of all, the ideals of Scouting. As Scouts earn each advancement through these advancements, they are also building each segment of the Scout crest until they have completed all pieces, coming together in the First Class rank. Effective January 1, 2010, the rank requirements changed for Tenderfood, Second Class, First Class and Life Scout. Make sure you check out the new requirements!
First Class to Eagle
Having learned the essentials of Scouting, the Path to Eagle is a matter of individual motivation. In these stages, emphasis is placed on leadership and individual development. Scouts continue to grow and learn by obtaining one of the 15 leadership positions along with some of the 121 merit badges opportunities that are available.
At each level, more and more is expected of the Scout. By building at each level of advancement, the Scout should no only have learned, but also should be able to use that newly-learned skill to continue their own development, help other Scouts learn, further demonstrate the ideals of Scouting and contribute to the community and mankind through service.
